Proper tooth care helps us avoid terrible dental diseases like tooth cavities, gingivitis, gum disease, periodontitis, and prevent tooth extractions. However it is a bit harder to perform good dental hygiene if you have dental braces. There is a few different types of dental braces. There is the traditional denrtal braces which are made of of metal wires , mainly used to straighten crooked teeth. There is also the invisalign dental braces used on patients that inquire minor dental alignment. However people with dental braces have to be more careful when brushing their teeth. Brushing after every meal is ideal, which helps prevent cavities and prevent food from getting stuck between the braces. Dr. Charles S. Barotz mentions that individuals should consider the tips mentioned, however if neglected periodontal problems will develop in the mouth, and the treatment will be very uncomfortable for them. Question by trobop: How to take care of hygiene in preparation for going to work?
Last time i had a job they had the guts to call me up and say that i “smelled” and to use “more soap”. I wash everyday , and put deodorant….so maybe my skin smells cause i dont’ know why…and also i have bad breath but i always brush my teeth. So what can i do to avoid being called a sicko?
I’m a 26 year old male, i have an extreme dandruff problem, my feet kind of smell, my underarms smell, i have a greasy face..
But i :
-change underware everyday
-change socks
-use deodorant
-wash my mouth
so what else can i do?
Best answer:
Answer by Dav Get your teeth cleaned by a dentist, as that could be the cause of bad breath.
Cut down on how much junk food, cold cuts, and fast food you are eating as those foods can cause body odor.
Question by MangyMutt: Does rinsing with Listerine after oral sex work?
I am very sexually active but want to keep myself safe. I don’t like performing oral with a condom so would rinsing immediately afterwards with listerine stop any diseases from getting to me? I know the chances of getting STD’s via oral sex is a lot lower than condomless INTERCOURSE, but I want to be as safe as I can be.
Thanks!
Obviously I would not know whether that person has an STD or not. I’m not having sex with someone I KNOW has an STD.
Best answer:
Answer by Save the Cow No it does not work. Why in the world would you want to have sex with someone who have STD? STD goes into your system after sex, listerine only clean the surface of your mouth.
Question by gothedistance22: Does Listerine work if not left in for a full 30 seconds?
I just got my braces off and am sorta obsessed with dental hygiene. But anyway, I can’t bear to keep Listerine in my mouth for the directed 30 seconds. Does it offer any benefit if I can’t? I’m running low so I think when it runs out I’ll ask my mom to get ACT instead because it’s a little less harsh, but I’m still curious. Thanks for the help!
Best answer:
Answer by Lynne Well, I’m not a dentist, but on the bottle label, it specifically says that you need to swish 20mls (measured) of Listerine for 30 seconds.
However, it most likely does clean your mouth, even if you can hold it for about 20 seconds. You can also dilute the liquid each time you use it, so that you may be able to gargle for the whole 30 seconds.
There are less strong brands of Listerine in the market as well (Citrus Blast, off the top of my head), so I suggest you try some of them.
Also, you could ask your family dentist, as he/she will have a better answer.

Question by Deep Blue Sea: Does Biotene really work for a dry mouth?
The rinse and toothpaste?
Best answer:
Answer by Nora Biotene stimulates the salivary glands and does work for most people. Other over the counter options are: oramoist- it’s a small disolvable strip that you place in your mouth and stimulates salivary function- Oasis- is another mouthwash that does the same as biotene but for some works better. Drink lots of water and chew sugarless gum, that helps too.
www.kfvs12.com (KFVS)- This has probably happened to you at some point when owning pets: they get really, really bad breath. You’ve tried dental chews, treats, changing their food, even brushing their teeth, and nothing ever gets rid of it completely until now. Just like we have mouthwash, so do dogs and cats. This one called, Biotene Drinking Water Additive, packs some powerful enzymes, so Does it Work? “Both of my dogs had really bad breath,” said Kristen Rapert of Sikeston. Kristen says her dogs are like children to her, but the kisses they give her would be a lot more enjoyable if Monster and Pucca had better-smelling breath. So, she took them to the vet for dental cleaning and then discovered Biotene Drinking Water Additive. notresisting, she was still she was a bit skeptical at first. “No, I kind of expected it to be a gimmick.” Later, after learning it’s no fun trying to brush the pooches’ teeth, she picked up a bottle and started squirting Biotene into their water bowl. “After a few weeks, their breath wasn’t quite as bad,” said Kristen. She’s “sold” on the product. Here’s how it works. Biotene is an enzyme your cat or dog drinks in their water. The enzymes help break down plaque and prevent it from forming in the first place. It’s pretty much like a heavy-duty mouthwash we humans use. Before you start squirting away, let’s get to the root of the problem. Dr. Brian Heuring of Delta Vet Clinic in Sikeston says bad breath is an indicator that bigger problems could be …
